Vo December 15, 1928 WINNETKA TALK 3 w Smoke Nuisance Law tobe Enforced by Kenilworth Trustees Smoke nuisance complaints against the Joseph Sears school and other prop- erty in Kenilworth were heard at the meeting of the Kenilworth Village board last Monday night. The com- plaints were referred to the police committee of the board with the sug- gestion that the anti-smoke ordinance be enforced. This ordinance, which has been in existence since 1919, designates the emission of dense smoke as a nuisance, It was stated at the Village office this week that many newcomers in Kenil- worth are unfamiliar with the ordinance and the efforts of the Village to pre- vent the smoke nuisance. Although the ordinance does ngt specifically pro- hibit the burning of soft coal if a boiler is designed for its use, residents of Kenilworth have been requested to burn hard coal wherever possible, HOCKEYITES DINE The Winnetka Hockey association, which is composed of two teams, the Skokie and Indian Hill squads, wound up the 1928 season with a dinner and social gathering of the members at the Indian Hill club Wednesday eve- ning, December 12.
