Sensing the great need of furnishing authoritative infor- mation to its members, The Automo- bile Club of Illinois has inaugurated. in addition to its well established Ac- cessory Display Department, an Auto- motive Test Car which is being used primarily for the purpose of giving new agcessories an exhaustive test both as to quality as well as utility, and in this way acquaint its members regarding the merits of each particu- lar product so tested. Every accessory displayed at the club is to be subjected to the most grueling workable tests, and actual re- sults as ascertained on the "test car" will be used as a basis of judging the new products as they appear on the automotive market. During the first three months of the newly established accessory display 792 inquiries were received and answered by the depart- ment. Many ask information on the dependability of some particular pro- duct and it was this query that prompt- ed Si.
