The meeting, held at the Central Y. M. C. A. in Chicago, was for the purpose of effecting a permanent organization of the league council. Hoagland is a popular and outstand- ing student at New Trier. He was a star halfback on the football team last year, but developed a shoulder injury which made it impossible for him to play this year. He is also a basketball and track man and plays in the school band. At the meeting Saturday it was de- cided that the council should consist of two boys and a faculty sponsor from each school in the league--New Trier, Deerfield, Evanston, Oak Park, Mor- ton, and Proviso. In several of these institutions the council members will be chosen from the boys' club, while in others the choice will be under the di- rection of the student council. A jun- ior in each school, presumably one who will be selected as a regular member of the council in his senior year, will be allowed to meet with that body to be- come acquainted with its problems and be in a position to carry on during the ensuing year. Will Discuss Boys' Problems The principal work of the Suburban League council will be to discuss the relations of boys in the schools which are members of the league. Its pro- gram of activities will include a general get-together of all boys in the Subur- ban league schools sometime in the spring. Another meeting of the league council will be held January 5, to con- sider business which was not handled at the session last Saturday. New Trier's representatives at Sat- urday's meeting, in addition to Alan Hoagland, were George Cogswell, presi- dent of the Tri-Ship club, and Donald Frisbie, faculty sponsor of the club. Kimbell Johnson of the Evanston High school was made secretary-treas- urer of the league council to work with President Hoagland, VILLAGE MANAGER ILL Village Manager H. IL. Woolhiser, who is numbered among the many Winnetka residents stricken with the influenza epidemic, has been confined to his home the greater part of this week.
