'Twas the night before Christmas. What happened? Plenty! After mid-- night mass not a person was seen out on the street, nor at home either except for those who entertained. A couple of the boys visited the home of Erma Miceli on Bellwoods and enjoyed a fine time. So it was heard. Some one we know starved for a week but made up for it that night. Four a. m. was certainly a great time to call on friends. Maybe they were Santa Claus and maybe they weren't. Anyway the tenants had to get up. They showed them their Christmas tree and presents. A few minutes later one of the children got up. Was she surprised! She thought that Santa came in the morning and so he did. As is the usual custom, families get together for Christmas. That was one day that the club members weren't assembled. Everyone was at his respective home, enjoying a day with the family. After dinner, the young ones went to the show while the older people played old Italian card games or talked over old times again. New Year's is a repetition of Christmas. Another quiet day for the boys. The Club wishes you all and prosperous New Year. Vanguard Chatter The boys want to thank dear old St. Nick for bringing them a tie each (as usual).
