- Description
- A letter from Rev. William O'Grady replying to Bp. MacDonell's letter of 26 October 1829 noting that he will give Bp. MacDonell's and Bp. Thomas Weld's respect to Sir John Colbourne, Lieutenant-Governor.
Sir Colborne will set aside land for churches in Adjala and Penetanguishene and possibly a pension for a missionary for Penetanguishene natives.
O'Grady also relates that Mr. James Givins, Deputy Superintendent in Upper Canada of Indian Affairs, has been fired and that Colonel McKay and Major James (?) Winniett have applied for those positions. Rev. O'Grady awaits Rev. Edward Gordon and also argues for yearly synods.
In a postcript, Lieutenant-Colonel William Warren Baldwin sends his respects and O'Grady challenges Mr. Henry John Boulton's, Attorney-General, decision to give Mr. Peter McDougall a portion of the York church lot in lieu of his suit.
