- It is out painful duty to inform our readers that Mr. Geo. Hume, well known in Acton, accidentally shot himself a short time ago. He and two companions were out duck shooting, and he having a good chance at a bird, pulled the trigger, but unfortunately the gun hung fire, and he lowered it to see what was the matter. When he had it on a level with his head it suddenly went off, entering his head under his chin, and killing him instantly. He relatives have the heart-felt sympathy of all who were acquainted with him, as he was as general favorite with many.
