The Late Lizzie Mann.
After an illness of several months Lizzie Mann died at her home near Acton on Tuesday morning, Nov. 28th. The sickness which resulted in her death was what is known in the medical profession as Arterio Sclerosis, a particularly fatal disease, consisting of a hardening of the arteries from the extremities to the heart. The deceased young lady was of the liveliest disposition and, both in her home and in the school, was beloved by those around her. Even amidst her sickness she was happy and to the very end sought to comfort her friends. Her strong and vigorous spirit showed itself within a few minutes of her death when she camly bade those in the home good by and entreated them all to meet her in heaven. Despite the affliction of partial blindness from which the deceased suffered, she was very talented. Several sessions were spent in the Institute for the blind at Brantford, where she performed her studies with great satisfaction to her teachers. She was a skilful musician and many of her friends loved to sit and listen to her as she played for them. Also in fancy work she had marvellous facility and neatness. Many a pretty and useful article she made in her days of strength. The funeral was conducted on Thursday afternoon by the minister of her Church assisted by Revs. Forbes and Cook at the home and Rev. W. S. McAlpine, B.A., at the grave. A large procession of friends followed the hearse to the grave and on all sides tokens of esteem for the departed and sympathy for the friends were shown.- Featured Link
