Bob Hughes Details

I was born 5 Sep 1926 on the Town Line (now Winston Churchill Boulevard) in a house owned by Sheridan Nurseries. My father was employed by that company as a Teamster (not a Union Member but someone who actually drove horses!). In 1945 I finished Grade XII at Oakville High School and joined the Canadian Army. In 1947 I joined the RCAF and served for 23 years as first a photographer, then as a Flying Instructor, a Jet Pilot (flying a Jet solo to Germany and serving there for four years with NATO forces at Baden-Baden), a Personnel Administrator, and finally a Search and Rescue Helicopter Pilot in BC and Yukon. I then obtained my Real Estate Licence in BC and worked as a Residential Salesman and later as a Sales Manager in Victoria BC for 24 years. I am now happily retired and living in Greater Victoria.
