Death of an Early Settler.
The remains of the late George Walters were interred in Fairview Cemetery on Monday. Mr. Walters died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. D. McKinnon, Georgetown, on Saturday. He had reached the advanced age of 83 years and 10 months. Mr. Walters was one of the oldest settlers of the section and came to Acton the year after the McKenzie rebellion, in 1839. He settled on the farm now occupied by his son John on the first concession. Mr. Walters left Acton a few years ago and has since resided with Mrs. McKinnon.- Featured Link
