Another Pioneer Called Home.
Another old pioneer has passed away in the person of Mrs. Wm. Michie, who lived on the town line of Esquesing and Nassagaweya. She died on Tuesday, 7th inst., from paralysis following la grippe. Deceased's maiden name was Ann McNaughton. She was born in Lister, Livingstone Co., N.Y., in 1819, and consequently was in her 81st year. For many years she lived on the homestead and her busband, the late William Michie, was particularly well known by the early settlers. One son Malcolm, on the homestead, and four daughters - Belle, at home; Maggie, in Hamilton; Mrs. George Michie, in Nassagaweya, and Mrs. Archibald, Maddaugh, Guelph, survive her. The funeral took place on Thursday last to Fairview Cemetery, Acton. Rev. Mr. Blair conducted the services. The pallbearers were M. Chisholm, J. Chisholm, W. Hampshire, D. Camphbell, J. McGibbon and J. Logie.
