NASSAGAWEYA.
Another sorrow has come to our neighborhood in the death of the late John Fletcher. For some weeks past he had been in the Guelph General Hospital, having undergone an operation for appendicitis. Great hope was entertained of his recovery. On Thursday last he was ready to return home, when he became suddenly worse. Another operation was necessary, from the shock of which he did not recover. He died early Sunday morning. The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, at Ebenezer cemetery. The deceased was born in Nassagaweya, where he had lived during the fifty-two years of his life. His memory will live long in the hearts of the residents of the entire township. By his consistent Christian life and true charitable disposition he made friends wherever he was known. Mr. Fletcher was a prominent member of Ebezer Church and worked zealously and self-sacrificingly for the welfare of the congregation. He was treasurer of the church at the time of his death. By his death his widow and children to whom whom he was much devoted have been severely afflicted. The children, seven in number, are: Florence, Franklin, Fred, Zennie, John, Orval and Helen - all at home, except Fred, who is in Jamestown, North Dakota. The remains were brought to Nassagaweya on Sunday for burial.
