Death of Mr. P. C. Maddock.
Two months ago Tuesday Mr. P. C. Maddock came from Toronto to the home of his father-in-law, Postmaster Matthews, in poor health. He failed to improve and a couple of weeks ago went to Sparrow Lake, Muskoka, accompanied by Mrs. Maddock, with the hope of regaining health. He gradually became weaker and last Friday they returned and went to his mother's home in Guelph. On Sunday evening the end came. Lung trouble was the cause of death. A young wife and three children are left. Mr. Maddock came to Acton some twelve or fourteen years ago, was for some time a salesman with R. B. Jermyn and subsequently was in business on his own account. For several years past he occupied a position in the T. Eaton store, Toronto. He was a bright energetic young man and made many friends. Mr. Maddock was a deacon in the Parkdale Congregational church, Toronto, and President of the Christian Endeavor Society. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon to the Guelph cemetery.
