Death of P. S. Armstrong
After a long illness, but only two weeks confined to his bed, the spirit of Peter S. Armstrong passed away at Wymore, Neb., on Wednesday, 11th Sept. Mr. Armstrong was a native of Eramosa. He came to Acton about 1872 and was for a number of years a highly esteemed resident. In 1879 he removed to Nebraska where he has since resided. Mrs. Armstrong, who was a daughter of the late Philip Hemstreet, of Acton, survives, also their son and six daughters. Of these the son, Andrew, is a Methodist minister in Nebraska, and Mrs. (Dr.) Jaquith, a daughter, resides in Toronto. Mr. Armstrong was a man of sterling Christian character, of kindly disposition, and was a member of one of the pioneer and leading families of Eramosa. The many friends of the family here will extend sympathies to Mrs. Armstrong and the bereft family.
