- OBITUARY
MRS. GEORGE H. KENNEDY
One of Georgetown's oldest and most respected citizens in the person of Mrs. G. H. Kennedy passed away on Saturday last. Mrs. Kennedy's maiden name was Margaret Jane Walker and she was born in Ballymena, Antrim, Ireland, on April 9th, 1840. She came to Canada with her parents in 1849 and settled in Georgetonwn, where she has resided continuously until her death. On October 9th, 1857, she was married to George H. Kennedy, who predeceased her 13 years ago. Deceased was a life-long member of the Methodist Church, a true Christian woman and a kind and loving mother. A family of one son and three daughters remain, viz: John W., Mary A.C., Maggie L. A., and Mrs. J. W. Adams, all of Georgetown; Mr. H. L. Walker, of Guelph, and Mr. John Walker, Georgetown. The funeral took place on Monday to Greenwood Cemetery, the service being conducted by Rev. S. M. Roadhouse. The pall bearers were six nephews; Herbert Cleave, Percy Cleave, Harold Cleave, Robert Cleave, Lorne Cleave and George Cleave. - Herald. - Featured Link
