JOHNSON, Catherine Peacefully to the arms of her Lord on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 in Oakville. Catherine, cherished mother to Royane Houghton of Ottawa, Heather Crompton and her husband Gary of Oakville, and Brian Johnson of Windsor. Loved grandmother to Lauren Crompton and her partner Matt Sykes of Georgetown. Loving sister of Arthur Sutherland and his wife Colleen of Ottawa and their family. She is also survived by her son-in-law Jim Hudson in Texas. Loved aunt of Eric Johnson and his wife Lois of Thunder Bay, and beloved aunt and sister-in- law to relatives in Manitoba and British Columbia. Catherine was predeceased by her husband Stanley in 1998, and her adored daughter Barbara in 2005. Catherine was born in Crystal City, Manitoba, June 5, 1921 and later moved to Thunder Bay where she lived with her family for many years. Catherine was a woman of faith, a woman of grace, compassion and charity and was loved and admired by all who were fortunate enough to be a part of her life. She always gave to others and was an ardent supporter of many Christian charities. Visitation will be held at the Glen Oaks Memorial Chapel on Thursday, September 9th at 11 a.m. with service to follow in the chapel at 12 p.m. For those who wish, donations may be made to World Vision or to Christian Blind Mission, two charities Catherine supported for most of her life.
