TURNER, Mrs. Joan (Grammie)- Passed away peacefully, in her 92nd year. Beloved mother of Mary Lynn Turner-Blady (Stan Blady), Winnipeg, Ian Turner (Ella), Waterloo, Christine Leibold (George), Oakville; Grandmother of Joel and Mark Northan (Tracie), Jennifer (James Maaskant), David (Lisa), and Jonathan Turner, and Rob (Pam) and Jamie Leibold (Deirdre Nalepa); Great-Grandmother of Mitchell, Emma and Caleb. Survived by brother, Jack Swingler, and sisters-inlaw, Rene Swingler and Reita Turner all of Thunder Bay. A grandmother to many, many families, "To know her, was to love her". Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville, 905-844-3221, Friday evening February 16, 2007 from 7-9pm. Memorial Service to be held at Trinity United Church, 1250 McCraney Street East, Oakville, Saturday afternoon, February 17, 2007, at 3pm, with a gathering to follow. There will be a further celebration of her life in Thunder Bay in several months. The family would like to express their heart-felt thanks for the wonderful care given by in-home caregivers, and by the staff at OTMH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
