PRESTON, Annie January 7, 1931 - April 10, 2013 Annie Preston (nee Douthart), of Oakville, passed away peacefully in her home after a courageous 15 year battle with ovarian cancer on Wednesday April 10, 2013, holding hands with her best friend and husband of almost 61 years, Ed and surrounded by her four daughters, Terri, Carol (Bruce), Lori (Nick) and Donna (Doug). Annie was born to Harry and Mary Douthart (Friel) of Coleraine Ireland, January 7, 1931 in Hamilton, ON and was a loving sister to the late George Douthart. In addition to her husband and daughters she is survived by her sister-in-law, Lina Douthart, nephew Danny (Kathy), niece Julie (Sharon), her 10 grandchildren and 3 greatgrandchildren. Annie's family and friends remember her as a devoted wife, loving mother, sister, aunt and an exceptional grandmother and great-grandmother who saw great joy in watching her family grow. Annie loved spending time with her family at the cottage on Colpoys Bay, Wiarton - her "little slice of heaven here on earth". Her home was always full of laughter, love and an impressive "spread" as family gathered for birthday celebrations, holidays or even afternoon tea. Annie was known for her "way around the kitchen", her hugs and unconditional love that made everything all right. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to Gilda's Club Greater Toronto, The Credit Valley Hospital Foundation Cancer Centre and The Oakville Hospital Foundation.
