Welcome
The Royal Canadian Legion, General Chris Vokes, Bronte Branch 486
Welcome to Bronte Legion Branch 486: A Digital History. This exhibit is all about the history of the Bronte Legion, located here in Oakville. Legions across Canada function as community centres and social halls, preserving a connection to our country's past. Membership is made up of veterans and veterans' families who choose to support the Legion's work. Members give their time and efforts to community betterment and to ensure Remembrance continues across Canada.
The stated Mission of Royal Canadian Legion Chris Vokes Branch 486:
"Our Mission is first to help our veterans, they gave us our freedom, they deserve our help. We provide assistance to them, their families and our community. Our Legion branch is a place for friendship and social gatherings, free from prejudices, discrimination and bias. The branch strives to keep our Legion healthy and vibrant, both financially and socially and to provide an environment where new members are always welcome. WE WILL REMEMBER THEM!"
