She carried a shower bouquet of red roses with sprigs of heather. The bridesmaid, Miss Barbara Saund- ers, was gowned in pale yellow chiffon and carrled an arm bou- quet of fuchsia gladioli. The reception was held follow- ing the ceremony. On Satunday, September 9th, a veny pretty wedding was solem- nized at the Tinity 'United Church Pansonage, Bowmanville, officiated by Rev. John E. Griffith, when Pauline Eva Gas- kmn, youngest daughter o! Mr. and Mrs. Alfred E. Gaskin, Monc- ton, N.B., became the bride o! Samuel George Alldread, young- est son o! Mr. and Mrs. James Ail- dnead, Tyrone. The bride looked charming in a dress o! Perry Winkle blue crepe, with fuchsia sequin trim- ming and a matching head-d.ress of fuchsia flowers and shoulder- length veil, with a corsage o! pink roses, wearing a string o!. pearis, gift o! the groom. Her attendant, Miss Doreen Hardy, wore a frock o! evening in Paris blue crepe with matching head-dness o! blue feathers and shoulder-length veil, wearing a corsage o! ned roses. The groomsman was Mr. Russel Hardy o! Leaside. r The neception was held at the home o! Mr. aiRd Mrs. Cecil AIl- dread, brother of the groom. Mis. Harvey Hardy and Mis. Alldread received the guests in the living room, beautifully decorated with asters and gladioli. A dainty buf- fet luncheon was served by two inieces of the groom, Doris and Mary Alldread, and Mis. Hardy poured tea from a nîcely deconat- ed table with pink and white streamers and pink candles, centred witb a tbree-tiered wed- ding cake. The bride later changed to a tailored blue suit and matching accessories for an extended trip to Moncton, N.B., to visit ber pa r- ents, leaving amid showers of confetti and good wishes. On thein retunn they will reside at Tyrone. PEACOCK-CRAGO A pretty wedding was solem- nized at the home o! Mr. and Mrs. Eber Crago, Town Line, wben Rev. J. Bunner united in mai- niage their daugbter, Violet Marie Crago, to Hilton Clark Peacock, son of Mn. and Mrs. R. F. Pea- cocec, Port Hope. Colored gladi- oli were used in decoration. The wedding music was played by Mrs. John M. James, cousin of the bride. The bride, given in marriage by ber father, looked lovely in a white brocaded satin gown styled witb a fitted bodice and a full skirt, extending into a short train with a sweetheart neckline. Her long sleeves ended in points over ber hands with a white net fin- gertip veil caught with orange blossoms and carried a bouquet of American beauty roses. Hen only ornament was a gold locket, the gift of the groom. Two sisters of the bride at- tended ber. Miss Marion Crago, as maid of honor, wore a street- length dress of air force blue crepe, matching veil with f lower head-dress and a corsage of orange roses. Miss Madeline Crago, as bridesmaid, wearing a street-length dress of cerise crepe, matcbing veil with flower head- dress and a corsage of pink roses. Mr. Genald Wilson, cousin of the groom, was best man. The bride's mother neceived in a violet crepe frock with black accessories and~ a corsage o! pink and white roses, assisted by the groom's mother in an air -force blue crepe frock with black ac- cessories and a corsage of pink and white roses. Followîng the reception the happy couple left on a trip to western points, the bride travel- ling in a cocoa brown suit with a gold blouse and brown acces- sories and a corsage of orange roses. The couple will reside in Port Hope. Guests attended the wedding from Oshawa, Whitby, Toronto, Brooklin, Port Hope, Newcastle, Bowmanville, Mountaîn View and Rochester, N.Y. ELSTON-OKE Ebenezer United Church was the scene of a pretty wedding on Saturday, September 9, wben Elsie Violet, daughter o! Mn. and Ntrs. Esl Oke, became the bride of Senior Radio-Navigator Cecil John- Elston, R.A.F.T.C., eider son of Mrs. Dorotby Elston and the late William Elston, Oshawa. The church was decorated with ferns and white gladibli. The nride, given in marriage by ber father, entered the cburch to the straîns o! the wedding march played by Miss Hazel Rundle.
