SWMANVILLE 480 - 734 ORONO 27-1 Phones: WILLIAM JOHN WILLIAMS After an illness of four months in a private hospital in Toronto, William John Williams, passed peacefully in death at the age of 81, July 27th, 1946. Born at Port Granby, Ont., Oct. 8th, 1865, son of the late John Williams and Mary Moyse, Mr. Williams spent his active years in the Bowmanville district as a farmer and market gardener. He retired several years ago quietly to live at his home, Manvers Rd. His wife, who predeceased him, was the former Miss Annie Couch. Mr. Williams had many friends who were attracted to him through his friendly, helpful, quiet, unas- suming disposition. He was a faithful workman, a real citizen who never intruded opinions on others, whosehcounselwas freely given only when sought. He will be greatly missed by all who regarded him s highly. A member of Trinity United Church, Bowmanville, Mr. Wil- liams was always ready to make his contributionto its cause and the charitable drives within the community. His religion was re- flected in his work and his steady course. Surviving are one brother, Fred, 121 Roselawn Ave., Toronto, and one sister in the same city. The funeral was held July 29th, from the Morris Funeral Chapel.- Fol- lowing the services conducted by Rev. W. P. Rogers, during which old, familiar hymns were played by Mrs. J. A.
