A. E. Cresswýell was pleasantly surprised to receive a telephone caîl from his sister in England, whom he has not seen for 18 years. Early Sat. morning fire of un- known origin destroyed the in- side and -roof of Mr. R. McCull- ough's blacksmith shop. Bow- manville firemen were called and were soon on the spot and with the help of a bucket brigade did a splendid job of keeping the fire under control, owing to this building being a stone- structure prevented what might have been a very disasterous fire.
