In their last game, Cowling's team overpowered Cliff Aldread's club by a score of 3-0 on goals by Fow- 1er (U.A.), Bickle (Richards) and Richards (Lunn). Lunn was giv- en the nod to the P.B. when ref- eree Don Stutt saw him throw his stick. As Lunn slowly skat- ed over to the other side of the rink to retrieve his weapon he could still be heard mumbling: "It only slipped out of mv hand, I tell * a. It only slipped out o' my hand." Bowmanville now leads the round robin series with five points. Port Hope has two and Cobourg one point. The game was close for the most part with the score 2-1 for Bowmnanville at the end of the first stanza. The end of the sec- ond saw the teams tied 2-2. Ladies' Major Bowling League Shows One Point Between Top Teams Emma Bromeil took top honors this week for ber high single game of 258 and wins the Royal Theatre ticket. Bernice Budai was second with 252, and Lil Phillips third with two good games of 251 and 247. Other singles scores were: Hilda Brock 247 and Mel McNulty 231. Mcl McNulty rolled the High Triple with 3 games of 230, 227, 211 to make a total of 668. Just four other girls bowled over the 600 mark: Lil Phillips 649, Ber- ice Budai 648, Hilda Brock 626 and Emma Bromell 613. Hilda Brock is stili leading the average list with 208, whiie Ber- nice Budai is a close second with 207. Bucknell's team is stili on top wîth 22 points, a one-point mar- gin over second place team. Piper jumped up to second place this week with 21 points, Budai third with 19. and Brock down to fourth place with 19. Piper and Budai's team both took 7 points for the nîgbt with Budais team having high triple score for the nite with 2966 pins. Bucknell and Budai tied for High Single game with 1016 pins.
