The Redmen showed up with oniy eight men and no defence- [men, and by the end of the first period, with the score 5-1 in favor of the Barons, it looked as though the score might go into double figures. The visitors held Bowmanviile to two goals in the second, and oniy one in the third, however, to keep the score down to respectable figures. In the third period the Redmen actually forced the play most of the way and scored one goal themselves while ailowing the Barons one. Gordon started the scoring off at 1:57 of the first frame on a nice pass from Harris Mc- Keen, but the lead was short- lived as Maxie Yourth tied it up 1-1 at 2:18. He was set up by a nice pass from. George Brabin. Dan Girardi scored the first of two goals at 7:54 when he tipped in a long shot by Ernie Dickens. Frank Hooper also had an assist on, the tally. Dickens Matches One Playing Coach Dickens made it 3-1 less than two minutes later when bis long shot, which was partly blocked by Jack Naylor in the Port Hope goal, trickled through to cross the goal line. Lloyd Hamilton made it 4-1 on a pass from Brabîn, and Bill Berwick ended the first period scaring at 5-1 when he converted passes from, Girardi and Hooper at 17:17. Brabin ran the count to 6-1,at the five-minute mark in the sandwich session when he cash- ed YourtWs pass from in close. On this shot also, Naylor got a piece of the puck but it dribbled through him to flash the red light. . Port Hope struck back midway through the period when a long shot by Turner from out-r side the blueline took a couple of weird bops and bounded into the cords fi'Lfind Pallister. Frank Hooper struck for one of bis typical goals on a break- away at 16:50. He skated in on KENDAL Mr. and Mrs. Don Stevens and Leslie Stevens, Newton- brook, spent Sunday with their brother, AI. Strangely enough, the visitors seemed stronger than the Barons in the third frame and forced play tbroughout in spite of the fact they bad only two men for relief work. It was Dan Gîrardi who got the first goal of the period however, on a shot from a scramble in front ot the Port Hope net. Frank Hooper and Ernie Dickens bad assists on the mark er.
