WHY DOES THE, HOTEL. NEED A D INING LOUNGE. LICENSE? Ilighway 401 has completely hy-passed Bow- manville so far as the travelling public is con- cerned, and the travelling publié is the life blood of a hotel. The motel, in the last five years lias become a word as well known as the word hotel. More people stay in motels than in hotels. Witness the motels at Scarborough, Oshawa, on Highway 115 just south of Orono, and at Welcome. There is a good possibility of a motel operating within the Bowmanville town limits. The only clientele ieft for a hotel are those people who like good food and drink, these include commercial travellers. The added attraction of a dining lounge is necessary to bring these people to the hotel. BALMORAL HOTEL 1951 Javelin Sedan Licence 8àe-535. Cost over $3,000 when new.
