Baskets o! pink and white gladiolus formed a pretty set- ting for the ceremony. Mrs. Frank Gilmer played the wed- ding music. The bride was given in mar- riage by her stepfather and wore a full length dress of wbite satin brocade on princess lines, the full skirt ending in, a slight train. The bodice wasI fashioned with V-neck and long pointed sleeves. A sequin and pearl beaded crown held ber silk illusion veil and she car- ried a white Bible on which rested a mauve orchid witb pînk roses and lily-of-the-val- ley. The bride's sîster, Miss Violet Zachanowich, was maid of hon- our, and bridesmaids were Miss Zosia Lesnick, sister of the groom, and Miss Patricia Polny. Ail wore ballenina gowns of salmon pink nylon net over taffeta with matching feather bats. They carried bouquets of pink gladiolus florets and yellow 'mums. Guests were received at the Lions Community Centre, Beech Ave., the bride's mother wear- ing a sbeath dress of Dior blie embroidered organza with mat- ching hat and accessories and corsage of white rosebuds. The groom's mother was in navy blue shantung in sheath style, with matching jacket. Her bat and accessories were of rose, and her corsage of pink roses. The couple left on a wedding trip to Florida, the bride wear- ing for travel an avocado green wool dress and matching jacket with black Persian lamb trim. Her accessories were black and she wore a corsage of yellow roses. Mr. and Mrs. Joness will reside at 82 Wood St., Oshawa. The bride is a graduate nurse of Ontario Hospital, Whitby. Prior to her marriage the bride was the guest of honour at a miscellaneous shower ini the Lions Community Centre when 76 neighbours and fniends presented her with many lovely gifts, and a social evening was enjoyed. The event was ar- ranged by Mrs. Norman Wjl- cox, Mrs. Donald Wilcox and Mrs. Martell Burns. On Sept. 27 Mrs. Keith Smith of Gaît and Miss Joan Buttery entertained for the bride at a miscellaneous shower held at the home of Mrs. Smith's par- ents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilfrid Carruthers, Scugog Street, when a number of girl friends were the guests. Members of the Nurses' As- sociation at Ontario Hospital, Whitby, presented the bride- to-be with a beautiful hand- worked table cloth and a piece of erystal. Following the rehearsal on Oct. 11, the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Joness, entertained the wedding party at their home, 19 Carlysle Ave. Out-of-town guests attending the wedding were from Stay- ner, Guelph, Gait, Downsview, Toronto, Scarborough, Islington, Port Hope, Whitby and Osh- awa.
