Two ai the players you'll enjay watchlng are lead-off batter and speedy centre fielder, Doug Lane, and a pretty fair shartstop, Mike Jobnson. Don McMurter is the ace c a large pitching staff. BANTAMS After a slow atart this season, Coach Biily Veiteb seenis te have his Leglan.upensored Bantamns rolling again, witb able assistance troim Manager Ron Johnston. Also, always ready to lend a helpig hand are Sam Black and Mel Wiseman. Except for a bad beating at the handa of Port Hope, a couple af weeks back, the Bantams have been able ta cut down on the early season errors, wbich plagued them. Led by clean-up bitter John Twist, and supparted by Ray Crombie and Alex Wiseman, the team boasts a fairly good hitting attack. The main cogs in the pitching staff are Blaine Pickard, Bill Brown and John Hancock, with Terry ]Black moving over from third base ta belp in the relîevlng dept. Harvester Star of the Week "'TIM" COX This week, with the Harvesters splitting twa contesta with the new league entry, Trenton, the job of picking the player who was the star of the week wasn't easy. A couple of players were outstanding in both games, but this only points out how valuable "Tim" Cox had to be, to win. "'Tim" is no stranger to local and out of town fans, who have become accustomed ta seeing him in bhis regular right field position for the past several seasons. The veteran per- former won the Bowmanville Surplus Store Award by claim- ing a pair of bits in each game and batting in two runs in Trenton.
