In each case the ani nÎljump- ed suddenly onto the road in- to the path of a car. Ronald Douglas, Peterborough, was driving on 115 Highway at 8:10 p.m. when his car struck a deer at the Pontypool side road. Damage to the vehicle was minor. Constable K. Bar. ber, OPP, investigated. The second deer siain was bit by a car driven by Ernest Giîkes, R.R. 2, Newcastle, at 8:25 o'clock the same evening. This accident happened in the same district as the other. It was on No. 35 Highway just south of Pontypool. Cinstable Peter Den Hoed, OPP,1!rVest i. gated. The dead deer in both instances were turned over ta the game warden. There was soine damage to Mr. Gilkes' car. On Sunday at 5:35 p.m. on 401 Highway at Courtice Road four cars were darnaged in a series of rear end collisions. Total damnage amounted ta approximately $250. The dri- vers involved were Alex Wa- ladyka, Richmond Road, Osh. awa, Alan Taylor, London, Ont., Victor Patak, Hamilton, and Percy W. Pickering, ot Belleville. Constable K. H. Suddard, OPP, was the in- vestigating officer. On Friday evening at 10:51) o'clock there was an accident on the C.P.R. overhead bridge at the west end of the town. Mrs. Kathleen E. Johnson, R.R. 4, Oshawa, lost control of ber car when it skidded on the frosty surface in the fog, The vehicle struck the side of the structure, and sustained about $200 damage. Constable Leslie Ricard of the Bowman- ville Police investigated.
