High Schoai Board met lasti week ini Port Hope with 161 members present. Mr. W. C. Brown, the new Principal for Millbrook, wa-q present at his first Board meeting, and was welcormed by the Chairman. The usual list of accounts totalling $23,068.29 was ap- proved for payment. The committee for the - Clarke high sehool reported that the driveway was finish- ed and that the cinder track required another application of cinders. It was reported that there would be some 13 students at- tending the Port Hope Voca- tional school from Millbrook and Cavan this year. The mat- ter of planning a bus route ta transport these students is under way and the committee was given power to act in the matter. Mr. S. B. Rutherford of Or- ono was appointed Assistant to the Principal at Clarke for the next school year. The salary of night school teachers for both academic and vocational was set at $6.00 per hour and the matter of administration salaries was lat er ta be decided at a ltrdate. The board received a depu- tation from the Garden Hill area. These parents were re- questing permission ta have their students attend Mill- brook high school, rather than Port Hope. It was said that the schooi buses ta Port Hope were overcrawded and they also feit that the students would get a better educatiori in a smalier school. After the deputation had left, the board discussed the matrat samne length and pasdamotion that they did passfed that we could grant the request ta change the i boundaries of the school dis- tricts.
