One of our very respectable and worthy residen.ts, Mr. Henry William Meader, passed to rest on Friday, November 24 in his 68th year, after a very brief, illness from pleurisy. Deceased was son of James and Em- ma Meader. being born at Provid- ence,,Isie of Wight, on December 11, 1855. H1e has lived in Bowmanville for 44 years. Ris wif e was Emma Lucella Fletcher, second daughter ot the late Gordon D. Fletcher who died on December 8, 1919. Mr. Meader was a very industrious and trusted workman and many gar- dens and lawns in this town show the resuits of his skillful and faithful work. H1e was also caretaker of local churches for several years. The funeral on Sunday1 afternooni NORTHERN ONT. FIRE RELIEFj Bowmanville Asked to Contrîbute As a resuit of the visit of muni- cipal authorities and others ta the devastated are lf Northérn On- tario an appeal has been sent aut by the Northern Ontario Relief Com- mittee suggestîng an amount each municipality should contribute ta- wards this fund. Mayor Quinn received the follow- ing telegram on Monday from the above committee which explaîns it- self: "May we resp:ectfully aýsk that your town raise an amount for Northern Ontario Fire Relief equal to one-haîf miii of your total assess- meut, either by way of levy or volunteer contribution. Peel Coun- ty has succeeded on this plan and are c ontributing substantial amount. Who will be the next ta corne ta the aid of these stalwart people? One million dollars is required for em- eregency relief".
