Those are figures taken from the statistics published by the Department of Labour. How could we believe that Mr. Meighen and his supporters are sincere when they are clampiiring that our industries are de- clining, and that uneasiness is f elt throughout Canada? The reverse is the truth, and we prove it by facts that cannot be de- nied nor disputed. The monthly reports tabulated by the Dominiuon Bureau of Statistics froin over 5,000 firms show that they were employing- IN 1921 January 602,444 persons February 613,983 é March 606,518 9 April 597,572 g May 606,441 June 603,494 Average: 605,075 per month LEY STANDING ýain Won Lost Score P- 9 0 83361 8 1 8223 6 31 7378 ste 6 3 7243 6 3 7162 5 4 7919 5 4 6681 1 5 4 6418 3 6 6843 4 5 6178 4 5 6857 3 6 6602 4'B' 4 5 6210 2 7 67001 n 2 7 6412 ,A" 0 9 5681 Ladies' 'League ch 6 0 37M1 6 0 3531 oe 5 1 3654 rner 5 1 8429 mieron 3 387.79 inprize 83 3 8171 on 2 4 3368 szon 0 6 3139 ýre 0 6 3042 ;n O 6 2885 Junior League er 3 0 2531 inson 1 2 22t0 y 2 1 1975 (- O 3 2062 HEN GI{ALLENGED IN1925 January 690,538 persons February 709,878 6 March 715,158 4 April 718,524 9 May 748,448 6 June 778,951 4 Average. 726,916 per month Increase in 1925 - 121,841 What more conivincing proof can be had of our industrial pro gresa than this big increase in the number of persons employed ini our various industries. We have proved: That our industries are unquestionabIy more prosperous in 1925 that they were in 1921. We have also a f urther prQof of it from the market prîtes of the shares of industrial institutions which are higher now than in~ 1921. Thàt the savings banks deposits have increased year after year since 1921, and that the last six months show a. remarkable increase. Another conclusive proof that there is employ ment, and the Canadian people is prosperous. That since 1921, employment has steadily increased, and that the official figures show an increase of 121,841 persons emr- ployed during the first six months of 1925, as compared with the same period in 1921. These are the f acts which prove most conclusively that our indus triaI development has made great strides, and that confidence and prosperity is returnîng to Canada-in spîte of the statements of Mr. Meîghen. Nowtha aneraof roserty s rturingto ana~,this is hot the time for a change in Government, which would give rise to uneasiness in industry, trade, and finance. The Liberal Party has proven the wisdom of their administration, and need your co- operation and support in their f urther efforts in conducting the affairs of this Country. See that you give them this on October 29th, in the best interests, not only of Durham but of Canada as a whole. knOW exactly, 'luseûn, +.n Mi.
