The proposed raceway would have stable facilities for 80 horses, lounges and a dining room in the grandstand IE overlooking the track. The operation expeets to cater to 1.5 million racing fans drawn from the eastcrn Toronto area. The announcement was made by Oshawa bar- ness Management, Ltd., owners of Orono Raceway. Plans for the Class A track must be approved by Darlington Township and the Central Ontario Water ' Resources Commission. Also, a charter for operation would have to lbe obtained from the federal Depart- ment of Agriculture and approved by the Canadian Trotting Association and Ontario Racing Commis- Sion. No information was available on future plans for the track at Orono, that has been used for several years by the same group.
