PONTYPOOL Visitors with Mr, and Mrs. Delbert Bowins on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Dick Fowler, .Brooklin, and Mr. and Mrs. Lorne McKee, Nes- tieton. Our local fire brigade has been kept busy this week. At 11 p.m. on Monday they were casled to the house fire of Mr. s-nd Mrs. Runions on the 2nd line. Unfortunately, the fire was beyond control and house and entire contents were lost. The family were given shel- fer at the home of Mr. and Mrs: Gerald Fisk for a few days and are now living at the farm home of Larry Brad- ley. The Runions have four chlidren - girls 6, 12 and 16 years, and a son 15 years. It s-ny readers have clothing or household items they would like to donate to the family, contact Mrs. Fisk at 983-9108 or Mrs. Propp at 277-2293. On Saturday the firemen answered a cail to a grass fire behind the Hamilton home on the 2nd line. On Sunday morning they were called to a grass fire at tihe home of Keith Stinson, Lotus, and on Sunday afternoon to a fire on the property of St. Clair Darroch, Speaking of fires, we heard that when three of our local citizens were recently visiting Noone's Restaurant, a fire started in the interior of the car. The Oreno firemen quick- ly came to the rescue and ex- tinguished it with little dam- age done. Miss Dale Hyland has re- turned to Kingston after two weeks at home with her mo- ther and family.
