However, the Bowmanville defense piled Up any running attack Eastdale attempted and Oshawa was unable to score. -Dennis Caruana started the game as quarterback for- the Redmnen -and engineered a 5 0 yard touchdown drive early in the first quarter. Caruana plunged over for the score on a QB keeper play and Stan Read added the convert. Eastdale was forced to concede a safety touch later in the first 15 minutes of play -and Bowmanville led 9-0 at the end of the first quarter. Pearce Wilcox, who took over as quarterback in the second quarter, scored the second BUS touchdown on another QB keep. The convert was missed but Bowmanville had a 15-0 lead at haîf time. Eastdale came out fired up in the third quarter and the play was. much more even. TheOshawa squad came close to scoring two or three times on long passes from QB Fallaise. H6wever, Bowman- ville notched the only point in the period, a single by Rend on a wide field goal attempt.0 Bowmanville exploded for two touchdowns in the final 15 minutes of the game, one on an off-tackle play by Steven Rowe and the other on a pass pattern from Pearce Wilcox to Ross Strike. Both converts were rnissed but the fina-score was-28-0 for the Redmen.
