One of the largest crowds we've ever seen at this hall were present to enjoy the music of Gary Bristow and the Country Fever and pro- vided a neat profit for the girls as well. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Mal- colm of Don Milis were weekend guests of the H o wa rd Malcolms, Mr. and Mrs. Costantino De Guisti were also guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Russo. Mr. Ken Lemai spent the weekend with the Ray Robinsons. Mr. Floyd Stinson and Mr. Lorne McKee returned home on Saturday from a brief deer hunting expedi- tion at their hunting camp. Their group of hunters bagged three deer during the season. Sympathy of this com- munity is extended to Mrs. Ross Carr of Bethany in the siidden passing of her husband. A'lso to their daughter Marie and son Creighton of Picton and other close relatives. The Norman Wilsons ob- served their mutual birth- days on Saturday evening -Poppa Norman (bis 39th) and the twîns Ann (Mrs. Ross Hurren) and Norma (Mrs. Jim Beggs) with a famlly birthday dinner, followed by the Janetville dance. A number from this community attended the Royal Winter Fair or the Ice Capades (or both) this week in Toronto. Two local young ladies, Sh3leIly -Brown and Barbara Shetler, have been recent patients, in Oshawa Gen- enal Hospital. Ir, spite of the fact that sevjeral other affains were scheduled for Saturday - ternoon, and bal! a dozen or so o! our own memibers were unable to be present, the U.C.W. Poppy Bazaar was quite successful. Most o! the tables wvere sold out and the "t.ake-in"' amount- ed to approx-imatlely $350. Amnong those attending Commencement Exercises at Clarke H-igh Scbool, Saturday evening, were Mn. and Mrs. Sid Brown, Mrs. Oliv'e Hendenson, Mr. and Mrs. E. Hoad, Mr. and Mrs. Murray Payne. The Lancaster Award for High- est Standing in Science for the year was won by Arthur Groot, and pre- sented by Mrs. Lancaster, ably filling In for ber bus- band, Sidney, who was i11 Mr. Sid Stacey and son Mnind Mrs. C.
