Three Town League Clubs Tied As Kramp's Dump McNulty's County Chrysier Upset Lockes by Jim Clarke Kramp's Furniture, despite extending their win streak to four games, are forced to share first place with two other clubs. The league's hottest outfit dumped McNul- ty's Sports, 9-7 in last Thurs- day night's opening match. They gained the decision by virtue of a solid, third period showing, outscoring their opp- osition 4-2. In the late contest, County Chrysler shrugged off a three game losing skid, upsetting Lockes T.V., 5-2. Kramps, County and Lockes are all even after seven weeks of play, with, 4-3, won-lost cred- entials. McNultys trail the threesome, with a 2-5 mark. In the 8 p.m. encounter last week, it was 2-2 after 20 minutes and 3-3 following 40 minutes of spirited play. Kramps, who have scored 33 goals in their past four triumphs, slammed in four unanswered goals by the midway point in the third period. Leading 9-5, they were nicked for a McNulty's power play tally at 11:08 and a final score during the last minute of play. Rick Woolner produced an- other one of his ordinary nights for the Furniture cro- wd tallying seven points, on two goals and five helpers. Kramp's Charlie Green was at his eagle-eyed best, as he struck for three goals. The remaining goals were shared by Wayne Harness, Dave Colwell, Wray Rendell and Gary Wilson. Woolner, with his seven point spree deplicat- ed his effort on the previous week. During Kramp's four game win streak, he has scored il times, while adding a like number of assists, for a remarkable 22 point contribu- tion. Joe Balson, doubled his goal production in a spectacular, losing cause, scoring four times. He entered the game with two goals in the previous four matches in chich he has performed. Steve Burns and Irv Gill, two familiar names over the years in the scoring statistics, notched six and four points respectively. Steve, limited to only a pair of goals and three assists over the past three weeks, was back to form, counting twice and assisting on four others. Gill stayed close, with a goal and three assists. Officials', Jamie MacDonald and Bob Hellam whistled down only two offen- ders, both minor calls to the Furniture club. In the late match, Lockes were tripped up by County Chrysler, who had dropped three in a row before last Thursday. After exchanging first period scores, County moved into a 3-1 lead on Andy Rowe's second of three goals and John Kramp's second of the year. The winners contin- ued to outdistance the T.V. troop in the third, holding a 2-1 edge. "Woody" Lee, and his third this season and Rowe with his third of the game, rounded out County's scoring. Locke's scorer came from Brian Evans, on a power play, at 16:21, with County in front, 4-1 at the time. The losers' only other goal came back in the first period, with Evans once again the marksman. County were tagged with four of the game's five minor infractions.
