14 The Canadian Statesman, bownan ville, October 23, 1974 YELVERTON Congratulations are extend- ed to Mr. and Mrs. Walter Walker of Janetville who observed their 50th Wedding Anniversary on Saturday with a dinner at the Janetville Community Hall followed by a dance in the evening, The Harvey Malcolms were in atten dance at the dinner where it was our prîilege to present Mr. and Mrs. Walker with a Victorian County p laque commemorating the happy occasion and a copy of Victoria County Centennial His tory. Yelverton Senior Girls held a very successful dance in Pontypool on Sat. evening with music supplied by Gary Bristow and orchestra. At the fast intermission each of the inembers of the team was presented with individual tro- phies by their coach Mrs. Gwen Gray. Winners of draws included a Pontypool gentle- man whose name we have forgotten, Mrs. Wanda Weightm.rn and Miss Kim Neals. Following the dance a number of those present made an unscheduled cali at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Gilmour (nee Jennifer Mc- GilI) of Yelverton for the seasons first charivari. Bill and Jennifer made their uninvited guests rnost wel- corne evèn at 3 ar.
