8 The Canadian Statesman, Bowmanville, October 23, 1974 Section Two TYRONE (Intended For Last Week) Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ray and Debbie were guests at the wedding and rece ption of their nephew Mr. Rick Payneý to Miss Darlene Caldwell held Saturday in Seagrave. Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Bluett, Toronto spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Prescott. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Edwards, Toronto and Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Hooey, New- castle were Sunday afternoon guests and Mr. and Mrs. Gerry Hardy and baby, Whit- ley were Wednesday supper guests and Miss Grace Smith was a Wednesday luncheon guest of the Prescotts. Messrs. Milton Virtue and C. Woodley spent sevealdays last week up north veig t he color of the leaves and also visited The M'CLaggan family at Dobbington and "farmer" Wilson Johnston. Mr. Dave Golding, Oshawa, was a Sunday dinner guest of the Jim Woodleys and Lorie Byamn spent the weekend with Susan Woodley. The Explorer group of the church started their regular Tuesday night meetings last Tues. night in the C .E. Wing of our church with twenty mem- bers and three leaders namely - Marg. Gaudet Goldie Tidd and Jane woodîey. We had two new explorers, Nancy Haines and Jane Taylor. Election of officers - chief Explorer Susan Siemon, Assistant Lynn Gaudet, Keeper of the Log - Leeson Clifton Keeper of the Treasure- Leanne Haines. This group is open for all girls fromn 8 to 12 and we meet in the C.E.' wing of our church every Tuesday night at 6:30. The 6th meeting of the 4H club was held at Mrs. G. Glaspelîs Oct 8. Roll caîl was "What our Ancestors were". Business opened with 4H pledge and Janet Knowlton read the minutes. We made $41 at ichard's sale and we wish to thank ail who helped in any way. We discussed what we are having for our party and also the Balkan country. Mrs. Glaspell demonstrated Pizza and Pat, Diane and Susan Woodley helped make Salata. Next meeting will be at Mr. G. Cornish's. We had a quiz on identifying different spices and theni closed our meeting with lunch. Mr. andMrs. John'Cook and girls, Hlampton; Mr. andMrs. Kenneth Crowells and family, Salem and Miss Grace Smith were Sunday Tbanksgiving guests of Mr. and Mrs. d. Cook. Mr. and Mrs. Allan Young- man, Christine and Peter, Brampton; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Youngman, Oshawa; Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Flett, Solina were Saturday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Youngman and Betty. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Wood, Port Perry were Thanksgiv- ing supper guests -of Mrs. Edna Wood and John. Mr. and Mrs. Reg. Harring- ton and family, Unionville, Mr. and Mr. Paul Vaneyk and family were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Vaneyk. Lora Lynn and Shelley Delaney, Salem are visiting witb their cousins Kristopher, Karen and Kim Vaneyk. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Oprica and family, Georgetown, were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. Vandorp. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Burg- ess,' Bowmanvillé and Mr. Bert Stevens, Strathaven Nursing Home, Bowmanville were Monday dinner guests of Mrs. Laverne Taylor and Danny.
