A farnîly dinner was held in their honor at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H.M, Tyrreli Park- way Crescent. They were presented wîth a piece of Royal Doulton. Mrs. Tyrrel is a sister of the bride. The hall was tastefully decoî ated in goid and pink with spr îng flowers completing the decor. Each lady received a loveiy corsage made by Vie and AI,'syoungest daughter Lorna. Every table had a pastel candie in a champagne glass wth tiny flowers on a stem, These were lit as the couple arrived. He then surpris- ed Vie and AI by weicommng their eldest son Ken and daughter-in-iaw Helen from Clearwater, Florida, who pre- sented their Mom and Dad with a corsage and boutton- iere. Their grandson, Barry Fletcher and his wife Sandy tromr Satety Harbour, Mlonda, presented their grandparents xith two beautiful floral arrangements from ail the friends and relatives. Grand- chiidren Douglas and Terry Firth presented them with a pair o"f Sth anniversary wine glasses and a money treewith 50 silver dollars from friends and relatives. Their son Char- les and his wife. Teresa from Piceton, daughter Jean and her husband Jim Firth presented them with other gifts. Their daughter Audrey Fletcher presented each of her parents with a beautiful gold wedding band. Their daughter Lorna and her husband John Trimble and children Todd, Tyler, Hayiey of San Diego, Califor- nia, were not able to attend but sent a telegram of congratulations. After ail the presentations were made,, Carson spoke about many things that had' happened to Vie and AI over the years and how they had gathered su many friends and the high esteem ia which they are held la the community.' Vie and AI started off the dance with the annive rsary waltz and an enjoyable even- ing of dancing with music by Ross Jackman. At 11:30 a most deliclous buffet dinner was served which was prepared and served by the executive who consisted of Mel McNulty, Marg Perris, Moliy Mairs, Peg Hart, Louie Wilson, Lola Wright, Audrey Fletcher, and Jean Firth. Hold Open House On Sunday Nov. 24th at 73 Queen St.. home of Vie and AI Fletcher an afternoon and evening recepton was held for approximately 150 friends and relatives. Vie wearing her beautiful diamond ring, a gif t from AI. .A charming tribute to Vie and AI was paid byj members of the Bowmanvîlle Legion Pipe Band (of which AI is a charter member) who parad- ed to their home and played several selections as well as offering their congratulations. A delicious lunch of fancy sandwiches and cakes were enjoyed by all. Those in attendance to their celebrations were from Flor- ida, Rochester, New York, Kenora. Picton. Madoc.
