We haven't been inside but from the exterior it would appear to be a fine building that should provide much enjoyment and recreation for the young and old who will enjoy the hockey and skating. There probably will be maüy problems facing those in charge, including the new manager Fred Smith because the ice-making machinery will take some time for ail concerned to become familiar with. It's quite a complicated operation and could develop flaws here and there, that, will have to be ironed out. However,, once the minor dîfficulies are overcome, it certainly wilI relieve the over-crowding pressure on Bow- manville, Oshawa and other area arenas. Councillor Don Wearn deserves much credit for his interest in the project; bels spent a great deal of time and effort bringing it to reality. BIG STORM - Skiers and snowmobilers probably greeted the first snowstorm with glee and were hoping. this section of the country would match Detroit and Windsor with its tremendous snowfall on Sunday. On Thursday night, during the six or seven inch fail here, snowmobilers had their first big outing on the town's roads and no doubt others were having a good time on the country roads and fields. Many from this area visited Oshawa Ski Club over the weekend, just hoping there would be enough snow for skiing, but unfortunately for them, that area didn't receive nearly as much snow as was dropped on Bowmanville And the lakeshore.
