The OJfficer's Conference will be at the University of Waterloo on April 29th, 3th and May lst. 1The Good Neighbours Re- port was given by Mrs. W. Braun. Theelderly and shut- mns will be remembered again witb Valentines. The Consum- er Report on sugar and aspirin was given by Mrs. H. Eewes. Il was agreed to give the 4-H Club $5 and also our yearly donation of $30 to the Board of Stewards. Mrs. C. Greenham, Conven- or of Consumer Affairs, was in charge of the followîng pro- grain - The inotto 'Spend a thought before you spend a penny' was given by Mrs. G. Moffatt. Shesaid this is very relative in thîs period of inflation. We need to have carefully planned spending, neither being too miserly or be 'ing a spendthrift. We want tci make sure that we get our money's worth. Many helpful hints were given to aid us in the wise spending of our money. Mr. Rae Abernethy, Bow- manville, spoke on -home decorating. Questions were asked with Mr. Abernethy giving us the information that was needel. Many helpful hints for paint and wallpaper use was given and much information gained. Mrs. C. Greenham moved a vote of thanks to Mr. Aber- nethy. Meeting closed wîth the repeating of the Colleet in unison. Lunch of sandwiches and piékles, tea and coffee were 'served by the group in charge._____ OBITUARY JOHN FREDERICK BROWN An inspector with J. Ander- son Smith Co., Newcastle, for 28 years, John Frederick Brown, aged 63, died suddenly on Monday, February lth, 1975, in Oshawa General Hospital. Born in Toronto and educat- ed in Oshawa, the son -of the late Mr. and Mrs, Charles Martin Brown (nee Bessie Nicholson), he was married in 1936 to Kathleen Westnutt, residing at 25 Second Street, Bowmanville for 39 years. He had previotisly resided in Oshawa for 21 years. oedby all who knew hbim, hewas a meniber of St. Jose!ph's Church, and a mnem- ber of the KIights of Colum- bus, and of St. Joseph's Council 6361.* He is survived by his wife Kathleen, daqÈhgter Sheila (Mrs. 'C. Bateson) of New Brunswick, son Dennis,, of I~omavilea brother Art- hur, of Oshawa, and a sister Phyllis (Mrs. G. Hester) of Oshawa. A twin brother Wal- lace, predeceased him. The funeral service was conducted b y Fatber J. Wilson on Wednesday from St. dos- eph's Church, Bowmanville. Pali-bearers were Messrs. M. Molloy, J. Cuddahee, T. Masterson, P. Vanderwouden, J. Smith and G. Power. Interment was-in Bowman- ville Cemetery, Father F. Mîhalîc officiating.
