This game, Which was played at Bowmanville on Sat. Feb. 22nd, was exciting from start to finish. Gananoque have a goo' skating club and will pro' ýde stiff opposition for the' Bowmanviile squad. Ted Puk made the score 2-0 on an unassisted goal. Gananoque narrowed the margin to 2-1 on a power play goal. Bowmanville went two up again on a goal by Nick VanSeggelen assisted by Kirk Kemp and Jim Hutton. Con- boy scored his second of the game assisted by Cox to give Bowmanville a 4-1 lead by the end of the second. In the third the teams each scored once. John Cornish assisted by VanSeggelen made it 5-1 and Gananoque scored their second with about one minute left in the game. Another power play goal by. the visitors. The second game of the series was played in Ganarn- oque on Tues., Feb. 25th. Since Gananoque won the toss,, the third game will be plaved in Gananoque on Sun., March 2nd at 3.30 p.m. It a tourth game is »ecessary it will be played in Bowmanville on Wed., Mar. 5th at 7:00 p.m. W. Franks Major Peewees iost to Hespel-- er, in the semi final game in the Colingwood Winterfest Hockey Tournament. In.their opening game on Sat. afternoon, Toros piayed Dunnvilie in a very exciting close game, coming out on top by a 4-3 score. ,Dunnville opened the scoring in the first, wîth Bnwmanvilile coming back with a goal from Robb DeBoo assisted, by Chuck Weish. Dunnviiie scored once again near the end of the first, making the score 2-1 in their favour. Randy MacDonald got the only goal in the second period Brent Clemens and Carl Chambers, In the third, Rick Simpson came back with two unassist- ed goals, one of these while we were short-handed. With one minute lef t in the game Dunnviile pulled their goalie for an extra attacker and we had a'man in the penalty box when they scorea the final goal of the game from a scramble in front of Mark Shackelton, who piayed al the way in this game. In the semi-finai on Sat. night Toros opened the scoring with their onily'goal by Rick bimpson on a goi setup by Stan Greenham. In the second Hespeler outhustled our boys with three unanswered goals. In the third period W. Franks outshot the opposition b y 3-1 but were unable to find the target. Late in the third Hespeler got their fourth and final goal makîng the score 4-1 for them. Going ail the way in our net was Paul Lavigne. Hespeler is a strong team who have aiready elim- inated Silver Stick Champions Streetsville, two games straight in O.M.H.A. playoffs. Our next gamne wiil be in O.M.H.A. playoffs with dates and times stMi not decided as we are waiting for the winner of Napanee and Gananoque. In the first game, it was Spencers. jumping into a 4-1 iead over Franks on goals by Jim Baker, Rick Radeacher, *Grant Flintoff and Brian Howells. '~After two periods Franks had narrowed the margin to 4-2 on goals by Steve Burns and Gary Wilson. Spencers seemed content with a 4-2 iead as they quit skati ng in the third aliowing a "Neyer say Die" Franks squad to tie it up at 4-4. This wiil now be a point series with the first team getting six points, winning. tree points to one. The second gane was also a- ciff-hanger as the score after two periods read 2-2. In the third it was Brooks ail the way asi they outscored Muttons 4-1. Muttons marksmen were Don MeMurter, Irv Gi and Bihl Brown. For Brooks it was Ken Holmes leading the way with two (including the win- ner) and Rick Woolner, Ron Hooper, Phil Johnson and WYayne Seymour each chip- ping in with one.
