Letter to Editor General Delivery, Bowmanville, Ont. May 9, 1975 Dear Statesman: I noticed a little note in this week's paper wondering why no one from this area par- ticipated in "The Walk for Millions?" I think I have the explanation. We're ail ex- hausted and broke from "par- ticipating" in charitable good works-right here! We "walk" to raise money for our churches. We did take active part in The Participa- tion House project. We buy draws for The Legion, The Kinsmen, The Lions, The Masons, The High School Band, we had Heart month, then we have just had Cancer month, we've ail dug deep for World Church outreach and Save the Children fund, we work actively for our churches and our politicians, ail the while treading water, "to keep our heads above." Ratepayers' Association tickets, donations for retiring politicians, dinners for them. Donors of blood. Dmnners and bazaars at ail the churches. Recreational facilities for YOUTH, here and elsewhere! Maybe that's why there was none from this area in "The Vacation Values for Carefree Camping! Spacious front dining shelter has tie-back zipper door, airy screened windows. Sleeping area is divided into 2 sections with divider curtain for privacy. Tough plastic floor. Big value! 189-99 Sleeps four in comfort! Large windows, front canopy, rugged Tuftex (woven plas- tic) flooring. Dutch door with ful Zipper bug screen a n d s t o r m fl a p f o r maximum protection. Walk for Millions", thing. O.K.? Thoughtfully yours, Mary A. Morris.
