On Sunday quite a number from here attended the mas- sive celebration of the Bay of Quinte Conference at Peter- borough celebrating the 5th anniversary of the formation of the United Church of Canada. C.H.S. Track Meet Cartwright High Sehool stu- dents held their annual Track and Field meet on Friday, May 23 with extremely close competition between the 3 houses. Final scores for'the houses were as follows: Tigers with 193 points, Ookpiks with 186 points, Ali Kats with 184 pints. The individual trophy winners were: Girls-Midget - Anita DeJony, Junior - Wlma Wolters. Senior - Wendv Lee. : Boys - Midget - Mark Graham, Junior - Colin Asselstine and Mike Van Gestel, Senior - Tom Wotten. The students are now trying ta stay in top physîcal condition to meet the Mill- brook High Schoolathletes at the annual Bi-School Track and Field Meet being held in Millbroak on Thursday, May 29. Mr. Norman Dysart, a graduate of Cartwright High School and the University of Toronto and presently head of the Boys' Physical Education Department at Crestwood Col-, legiate, Peterborough, has been selected as one of the fifty-five Canadian and Amer- ican Physical Education tea- chers ta attend a three week study seminar at the Lenîn Institute of Physîcal Educa- tion in Moscaw, Russia. Some of the wrld's top athletes and coaches will be featured at this special study session sponsored b y Loyal a Univer- sity, Quebec. Norm has been asked to present a paper outlining the aims, objectives and evaluation of the Physical and Health Education pro- gramme at the Secondary school level in Ontario. It is alway s a pleasure ta acknaw- ledge the achievemnents of aur local high school graduates.ý Cartwright Ranger Spring Show The annual Ranger S pring fashion show was held on Thursday May 15th at Cart- wrigh Recreation centre. Th e leaders Mrs. Gunter and Mrs. Turner were çresen- ted with corsages as a token of the Rangers' appreciatian. The evening gegan with the gii'display of spring fashions.
