Littlewood of Bays- ville wfas the guest speaker on Sunday at the Orono United Church at the 5th anniver- sary celebration of the union of the United Cburch of Canada. Rev. Littlewood was a former minister for this charge from 1938 to 1947. A number of the Kirby Churcb congregation also attended this special service. Rev. S. Littlewood was a house guest of Mr. and Mrs. Ryond Cbapman from Sat- udyto Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy Gray attended the graduation of their son David at Queen's University, Kingston, onSat- urday along with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Gray of Yelverton; Mr. and Mrs.» Randy Langfield of Brampton; Mr. and Mrs. Reg Sutton. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Johnson of Peterborough spent Satur- day with bis parents, Mr. and Mrs. James L. Johnson. Mrs. Ed. Farrell and Mrs. Herb Murray are patients in the Memorial Hospital, Bow- manville. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Juergen Kaiserling (the former Catherine Walker) on their marriage on Saturday afternoon, May 31sf in Orono United Church. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Power were Sunday evening dinner guests of Miss Merle Power. Miss Hazel Power and Mr. Harold Power, Oshawa. Mr. Harry Milton Cowen, age 83, husband of the late Mrs. A. Marguerite Waddell. Cowen (Feb.. 1974) p)assed away early Tuesday, June 3rd, 1975 at the Oshawa General Hospital. After rest- ing at the Barlow Funeral Home. Funeral will be on Friday afternoon 2 p.m. at the Long Chapel. Interment Orono Cemetery. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Greer of Oshawa wbo attended the 5th Anniversary at the Orono United Church and Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy Gray and David were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Reg. Sutton. Mr. and Mrs. Wmn. S. Tamblyn and children enjoyed the weekend at his. parents cottage on Lake Catchacoma. Mrs. Bill Rutherford of Lindsay; Mrs. Jim Rutherford and Mrs. Bob Rutherford held a shower at the home of the latter on Sunday for their niece, Miss Linda McLaren, bride elect. Over 25 relatives attended. Orono United Church Wom- en held six meetings this week on Tuesday afternoon, Unit 2 at the home of Miss E. Davidson, Unit 3 - Pot luck supper at the home (,f Mrs. C.B. Ty,,rrell and Unit 4 - in the Main Hall Tuesday evening. Unit 1 on Wednesday, 12:30 ý .m., Pot Luck Lunch at the ome of Mrs. Sadie Hamilton and Unit 5 at the home of Mrs. Carl Billings on Wednesday afternoon and Unit 6 in the Leskard Church Hall. He bad been employed as a laborer, and farmer, with the Canadian Pacific Railway, the Department of Highways and the Hydro. Surviving are three sisters Sarah, (Mrs. A. Holdaway), Margaret (Mrs. Ernest Tonk- in),, Edna (Mrs. Edra L. Laverty) and a brother Samuel Powell. Mr. Powell rested at the Morris Funeral Chapel for service on Monday, Reverend Thomas Smitb. officiating. Paîl-bearers were messrs.
