Hobbs School in Hampton, Wednesday, July 2. Other members of the executive elected are: Hugh Coutts, vice-president; Cyn- thia Zander, secretary; Ernie Konzelman, treasurer; Pat Mantel, membership secre- tary; Tina Olthof, organizer; Gerry Qîthbof, provincial cou- cil delegate;, Martir Manitel, alternate delegate; and Gerry Qîthof social cconvener. Formation of a new association was made necessary by a redistribution of riding boundaries which placed northeast Oshawa in the riding, which also includes the new Town of Newcastle- ZION Mr. Fred Raby returned home last week from St. Joseph's Hospital, Peter- borough and is slowly pro- gressing. Mrs. L. Ttterîngton and Raymond spent the past week at their cottage at Jack's Take. We understand Mr. and Mrs. Jerrpild Jacobs and famnily have taken up resi- dence in Milbrook. The new homes on the Zion Road are becoming occupied - severai new families moved in last Saturday night. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Raby, Coiborne spent Monday with relatives at Roseberry Hill. OBITUARYî GORDON THOMAS McPHE1tSON Following a lengthy illness, Gordon Thomas McPherson, aged 70, passed away, Tues- day, June 24, 1975 in Memorial Hospital, Bowmianville. Born in Mari posa Township and educated at Brown'S, School and Mariposa Town- ship, he was mnarried October 10, 1942 to Mildred Johnston. A resident of Bowmanville since 1942, he, was employed in security at Goodyear Canada, Bowma-nville plant, retiring 8 years ago. Mr. McPherson was a member of St. Paul's United Church where he served as a steward, and of Mason's Brock Lodge, Cannington. Surviving are his wife Mildred and daughter Elaine. A sîster, Christine Currie of Beaveýrton, passed away re- cently. Reverend N.E. Schamer- horn, B.A., M. Div., officiated at the funeral service held on Thursday, at the Morris Funeral Chapel. Hobbs Parent Advisory Comminittee was held on Mon- day, June 9, in the Home Economics RPoorni. The house league system tor the comning year was ex- plained by Mr. E.S. Taylor. The league will be called Hobbs Olympies based on the 1976 Olympies. Each class will select a country they wish tLo represent, and possibly study same and make an appropri- ate flag. They wi Il have competition between classes in sports as in their previous house league. They will also have an individual point systemt with a maximum of ten poijnts per student each month. Mr. Taylor asked that ail Library and Text Books found at home please be returned to the school. If students have Tab books which they have read and have no further need for, ffhe schooi would appreci- ate this type of book as well.
