Tabb, Bowmanville recently grad- uated with first class honors from McMaster University in Hamilton. Ken received an Honors Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics at spring convo- cation in May of this year. Being interested in compu- ters, hie was pleased to accept a. position with General Mo- tors of Canada, and is at present employed in Oshawa in their Data Processing Department. Ken and his new bride Sharon have taken up tempor- ary residency in Oshawa but will soon be moving to their new home at 18 Ashdale Street in Bowmanville. .PONTYPOOL Mr. and Mrs. Bill Angiers of Downeyville were Sunday vis- itors with Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Fisk. Dean Fisk spent the past week in Ottawa looking for employment. We extend get-well wishes to ail those on the sick list and in hospital - Letty Carter in Ross Memorial, Lindsay, Phyllis Mitchell in Civic, Peterbor- ough, Minnie Peneder in Oshawa Civic, and Percy Beggs who has been home on sick leave from G.M. for the past month. Among the many new- corners to our area are Mr. and Mrs. McKellar, formerly of Toronto, and now residing in the home they purchased from Mr. and Mrs. Steve Fischer. A large number of children were presenit for Sunday School on Sunday morning. As yet no one bas volunteered to take a turn at teachinig any of the junior classes. Mrs. Ficko and Grant Curtis kindly filled in on Sunday. Mrs. Keith Tregunna and family, of Oshawa spent Satuir- dayisitin.-g relative-s in the village Mr. and Mrs. Pete Suther- land and family were guests with the 0. Challices on Sat. evening. Mr. Harvey Aiken and Tom spent Saturday visiting and sight-seeing in the Kitchener and Orangeville lareas with Keith Tregunna Oshawa, as their chauffeur. Nýewlyweds Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hyiand returned on Saiturday from a two-week honieymoon in St. Petersburg, etc. They are now residing in Brockviile. Visitors over the weekend withi Mrs. Wilma Hyland were Mr. and Mrs. Doug Chapman and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Dixoni. Laurie and Sherry McKee of Oshawa spent the weekend withi friends in the village. MSr. and Mrs. Dave Ferrier and Doreen of Bolton spent the prast weekend with the Chai- ,ces. Mr. and Mrs. Murray Brown and family of Peter- bor;ough were also visitors. Mr. and Mrs. Don Challice and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Stewart attended the Scout- Cub) banquet held in Orono Arena on Sat. evening and reported a large attendance. Donit forget the first euchre party of the season on Friday evening. Mrs. Fajt of Brantford is in the district ývisiting with membiýers of hier famiiy. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Taylor of Orono were Sunday supper âuests of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Beggs and attended both the hall games. Two thriiling hall games were played on Suniday. At 2 p.m. in Pontypool, our Cath- mar Well Drillers took the serni-finals in the Scuigog League by defeating the Velverton Rockets in a 3-0 bal game. Dave ttatuse for Ponty- pool and Don Tmms for Yelverton gave no walks and very few hits. Rafuse' and Brown had home runs for the locals and Rafuse scored from second on a it by A. Fallis.
