October 8,17 OPP REPORT Several incidents, other than traffic accidents, investi- e atea ony Provincial Police from Newcastle during the past week relate to such offences as break and enter, wilful damage and various thefts. The detachment's Commun- ity Services Officer, Gary Brunton, reports 12 persons were charged with offences under the Liquor Control Act, four persons with impaired driving and eleven wit driv- ing offences which resulted from accident investigations. Bowmanville Kiwanians were told Monday eveninýg that the "major emphasis theme of the international organization this year 'touch life'proves that Kiwanis is not merely a cheque giving club." The message was relayed by Pine Ridge Kiwanis Dis- trict Lieutenant-Governor Dennis Sweeting. Mr. Sweeting, whose home club is Lincdsay, was in Bowmanville to install the local club's new siate of officers for the comîng year. Doug Barber has taken over the reins of the club's chief office (President), from Char- les Reid, and was installed Monday by Mr. Sweeting along with lst Vice Dave Gray and 2nd Vice Jimn Coyle. The nev treasurer is Len Keruiy and Secretary Don Hamýfilton. Directors are Bruce Colwell and John Wilson. In his initial address to the club, president Barber indica- ted the importance of the international relations of Ki- wanis. The Key Clubs are operated at the high school level while "Circle K" is designed for the college group. Aside from the Bowmanville High School it was also suggested that consideration of forming a KeyClub at the Pine Ridge Boys School mightf be a favorable idea. OBITUAIRY MRS. GEORGE FOGG A well-known, long time resîdent of R.R.4 Bowman- ville, Emily Fogg, aged 81,, died in Memnorial Hospital, Bowmanville, on Wednesday, October lst, 1975. The former Emily Standen, she was born in Sussex England, and was marrîed November 23rd, 1915 to George Fogg. Le ft to mourn hier passing are lier husband, a daughter Beverley (Mrs. Roland Bate) two sons, John and Bud Fogg, alI of Bowmanville, 13 grand- children and eight great grandchildren. Reverend Thomas Gracie officiated at the funeral ser- vice beld on Friday, at the Morris Funeral Chapel.
