This year s Junior football team under the direction of Mr, Woodlock and Mr. Schwalm is very promising this year. Although the play- ers on the averge are small, their speed is amao factor. The Junior Rede have proven their capabilities by keeping an unheaten winning streak in exhibition games. Their real test was last Wednesday's gamre at Civic Fields in Oshawa witb the No. 1 team, O'Neill of Oshawa. It was a close battie, a game well played, but Bowmanville came out strong at the end winning it 15-14. The Bowm an- ville Junior Redmen have now claimed themselves No. 1 in this area. The Senior football team under the direction of Mr. Lynch and Mr. Milovick is also very promising. Although the Senior Redmen did have a slow start, the team as a whole is in excellent shape. The Junior and Senior soccer team bhas kicked off strongly this season winning a majority of their exhibition games. The junior team is coached by Mr. Netten and the senior's by Mr. Ramdial. Volleyball at BHS bas been bouncing bard this season. Botb the junior and senior teams are coached by Mr. Todd, although the teams have had a 50-50 winning- losing record in their exhibi- tion games, most of their games have been close bat- tles. The main objective that the volleyball teams are, working for is the Volleyball LOSSA Tournamâent to be held near the end of October at G.L. Roberts in Oshawa. The girls junior and senior basketball teams have been very impressive this year. Miss Shea coaches the junior teâm while Mrs. Crease coaches the seniors.
