Tfie Bowmranville squad played exceptional in the first two periods, taking some heavy hits from Aj'ax. In the first period Bowman- ville's Scott Stevens scored after taking a low shot, at the 13:11 mark, to give tbem the lead. Dean Rutberford and Rick Bain assisted on the play.- The team began to let up and Ajax came back to score 2 goals at the 9:03 and 1:26 mark of the first period. Bowmanville tie'd up the game in the second period with a second goal by Scott Stevens, assisted by Gary Dusseldorp, only to have Ajax to take the lead once more by a goal by Dwayne Frattura. Then, Peter Nemisz of Bowmanville tied up the game after pounding a loose puck into the net, assists going to Brian Dennis and Tim Button- shaw. In the third period, the game was a deadlock tie and both teams fougbt hard to break it. But Ajax's plan was foled when Ed Visser scored, POPping lu a rebound after Rick Bain took a bard shot from the point, also assisted by Brad Godfrey.
