A native of Orono, Ross Carleton and an employee of General Motors as foreman in the South Plant paint shop, who had 18 vears service, died suddenly at work, Friday, Nov. 21, 1975. For the past seven years he lived at R.R.1, Foxboro. Born March 3, 1928 in Orono, he was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Carleton. He was married March 1, 1968ý in Whitby. He had lived in Oshawa for several years prior to moving to Foxboro. He is survived by his wife, the former Shirley Mahaffy; one daughter, Mrs. Gerald Davies (Diane) of Blackstock; two sisters, Mrs. AI 1-igott (Fossetta) of Orono; Mrs. Broder Summers (Phyllis) of Hastings; and four grand- (hldren, Lori, Doug,_ Shelley and Steve. Two brothers, Walter of Toronto and Ken- neth, Ray, of Orono died be- fore him. Mn. Carleton was at the Armstrong Funerai Home. Service was held in the chapel with internipnt in Orono Cemetery. Rex'. Harold Barrowclough of Wesleyville. 1Item s of 1Interest On Thursday, November 13, 1975, a retirement dinnen was held at The Flying Dutcbman Motor Motel to honor Mrs. Florence Vanstone who re- tired on November 2, 1975 from the housekeeping staff of Memorial Hospital, Bowman- ville. Following dinner, Denis Pickard, Manager of House- keeping-Laundry Depart- ment, highliglited Mrs. Van- stone's fourteen years at the hospital, since starting there, September lst 1961. He then called on a fellow worker, Mrs. Lillian Harvey, to make, the presentation from the/ hospital staff. Mrs. Vanstone said she was looking forward to cracking the whip over her husband, Charles, who retired from Goodyear on April 4, 1975.
